When To register?
Register anytime between June 21st and September 21st to participate in the Nature Challenge & Hike-a-thon. Registration is 100% free, easy, and the first step in taking part in this transformative effort.
Please note: To be in the running for any awards or prizes, you must be a registered participant.
What to expect?
We launched the Nature Challenge and Hike-a-thon this summer to get you out and into the urban canyons of San Diego’s City Heights neighborhood while driving awareness and raising funds for environmental education and green workforce development. During this three month long event, you will have the opportunity to:
adventure into the City Heights Canyon Loop Trail with Canyonlands during our monthly loop trail hikes, via self guided virtual tour, or the first inaugural Hike-a-thon on September 21st.
attend Mini Challenge Events where you can get specialized training on iNaturalist and sit in on engaging Nature Talks by local environmental experts and advocates.
use your participation and progress in the challenge to raise funds toward your fundraising milestones.
turn this opportunity to support a good cause into friendly competition as you challenge your friends, family, and loved ones to get involved.
How does my personal fundraiser page work?
A personalized fundraiser page is created at registration for all participants.
Use this personalized fundraising page to track your progress, have your participation in the challenge sponsored, provide status updates to your supporters, and be in the running for amazing prizes just by signing up and engaging in the challenge.
If you just want to hike and take the challenge, don't worry! Registration is still free and there is no obligation to fundraise.
